County Line Community Band will team up with the San Antonio Chamber Winds to premiere a local composer's new musical composition. Charles Booker composed “Celestial Lights” with an alto saxophone solo that will be performed by UTSA Saxophone Professor Dr. Rami El-Farrah. The composition is a three-movement work inspired by celestial lights in the sky and are titled “Sunlight,” “Moonlight,” and “Starlight.” It is dedicated to Dr. Christopher Barrick, Music department head at the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith.
Prior to the premiere, both bands will perform short selections that showcase the talent of musicians in the San Antonio area. The County Line Community Band, under the direction of retired Army Veteran, Toby Knight, will perform several works in celebration of the 300th Anniversary of San Antonio. The San Antonio Chamber Winds, an extension of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, just came off a WGI Winds Independent World silver medalist championship.
