Artist Gina Davison is blending her work as a commercial food photographer with her artistic expression with "foodie" still life in the exhibition, "Food Stories," featuring 15 new and recent photographic works as part of Fotoseptiembre.
Davison believes that food is more than just something that physically sustains people and that there are so many different aspects to it. There’s a saying that "people eat with their eyes," and food is a very visual experience. But it can also be political whereas food can be plenty and immediately available to the wealthy, but not always so accessible to the poor. The exhibit aims to illustrate people’s love or appetite for food.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through September 27.
