Hemisfair’s Second Saturday Art in the Park series presents free art workshops for kids ages 4-12 led by Artpace Educators. Each workshop features one artist who exhibited at Artpace. Kids will work on a project based on the art of Leigh Anne Lester that was exhibited at Artpace in spring 2013.
Lester uses a variety of materials in her drawings and paintings to explore genetic modification in nature. She is a graduate of UTSA and her work is found in a variety of galleries across the U.S., including the McNay Art Museum.
Students will work with an Artpace Educator to learn about Lester’s Artpace exhibition and create their own “Mutant Plants” drawing on vellum paper.
