The Heart of Texas Concert Band will close their 2022-23 season with the annual Independence Day concert, this year entitled "An Alamo City Fourth."

The event will also feature the River City Ringers of San Antonio, the Cedar Mountain Chorale, vocalist Elisabeth Failing and organist Geoffrey Waite.

A special feature of this concert will be a re-enactment of a Civil War era battle of the bands – bandsmen of the era, friendly rivals before the conflict, had the music of the other side in their repertory, and were known to serenade the soldiers of the other side when the bands of the two armies were close enough to be heard across no-man’s-land.
