The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind & Vision Impaired has been serving people who are blind or vision impaired since 1933 by providing rehabilitation services, as well as employment for the blind and vision impaired in its light manufacturing assembly plant.

The annual Art in the Dark event, benefitting The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind & Vision Impaired, is an evening to remember, as the touch, feel, and sense of art is explored. Some of San Antonio's most distinguished local artists donate their art to Art in the Dark. The art is draped, and the artists discuss their pieces and show other works they have designed. Guests can ask questions and touch the art, but no peeking — the idea is to purchase art as a blind person would.
