HFLA-SA was created in 1924 to provide interest-free financial assistance to the San Antonio Jewish community. Today, they provide both need and opportunity-based loans for everything from daycare to eldercare, education, healthcare costs, and more.

HFLA-SA does one major fundraising event each year. Last year was a Casino Night gala, and in the past there has been an annual picnic fundraiser. The 2019 event is currently in the planning process.
Sustaining Membership donations help fund the loan activities. Members get perks such as VIP invitations to events and special thank-you events from time to time.
