Family Promise of Greater New Braunfels' mission is to mobilize the faith community to help low-income families achieve and sustain independence. Family Promise is an interfaith, nonsectarian organization for families with children in transition. The program utilizes a network of local congregations that offer hospitality, providing shelter, meals, and emotional support to families without homes. Because Family Promise utilizes the space and volunteers of local congregations, it is a cost-efficient and effective solution to family homelessness.
In addition to financial donations, Family Promise relies on volunteers to support Host Congregations; to serve on board committees planning Family Promise activities; to share their skills in social media, information technology, fundraising, event planning, and many other skills. The annual Family Promise Bed Race is a fun-filled afternoon fundraiser featuring teams that design, construct, and race wheeled beds to raise money to end family homelessness. You can participate by creating or supporting a team or becoming a race sponsor.
