CTPR is a 501c3 organization located in Bastrop, about 30 minutes outside of Austin. In only three years, they've become home to over 250 pigs, all saved from high-risk situations including abuse, neglect, slaughter, and animal testing. They prioritize "last chance" pigs — medical and behavioral special-needs cases with no other options.
They're also home to two goats, five donkeys, two guinea fowl, eight cats, and six chickens. Most people who adopt a mini pig choose to rehome it at some point, and while they cannot take every pig who needs a home, the CTPR Rescue and Rehoming Facebook page has been a huge resource for many people needing to find a new, loving home for their pig.
CTPR offers monthly tours so you can visit the pigs in person and learn about what the group does. Private tours and the hosting of small events is also available.
