Swanky San Antonio resort shakes up nightlife with sleek new bar
Ask any pop star: The worst thing any brand can do while gaining momentum is to disappear from the public eye (ahem, Normani). The Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa certainly pays attention to the buzz. A week after revealing swanky updates to its flagship Antlers Lodge, the property followed up with the opening of a brand-new bar.
Continuing its summer revamp, the hotel debuted its newest amenity, Woodbine Bar, on August 7. The sleek watering hole, located in the lobby, is a departure from the ranch chic of its other cocktail spot, Charlie’s Long Bar. Minimalist decor and space-age lighting form a sharp contrast with the building’s limestone facade and the Hill Country vistas beyond.

The cocktail menu emphasizes agave spirits with riffs on classics like Ranch Waters and Margaritas, and originals like Senorita Serenade: a blend of reposado, grapefruit, bitters, and a blood orange and ginger shrub. Other drinks range from a strawberry buck to a sipper built with basil-infused vodka.
Woodbine also stocks a variety of local craft beer and an edited list of wines from popular vineyards. Not missing the national vogue for nonalcoholic options, it also carries zero proof beers and a trio of refreshing mocktails.
Should guests get peckish, the bar offers five light bites inspired by Texas cuisine. Cured local cheese and charcuterie boards are complimented with quail “knots,” Gulf shrimp cocktail, and muhammara, a spicy Syrian dip made of red peppers, walnuts, pomegranate, and Aleppo chili.
Woodbine’s introduction comes as the Far West Side resort busies itself with a third project — the revamp of Charlie’s. While construction wraps up, Woodbine will be open with extended hours of 9 pm to midnight daily.
