2 San Antonio resorts book spots in Condé Nast Traveler's coveted annual awards
San Antonio is a hot spot for travelers, and now we have a definitive ranking to prove it. Two San Antonio-area resorts just landed mentions in Condé Nast Traveler's annual Readers' Choice Awards: La Cantera Resort & Spa, and Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa.
Celebrating its 35th year, the annual list collates the best hotels, airlines, cruises, resorts, and islands — all chosen by the magazine's readers from around the world.
Landing at No. 43 on the global list of best resorts, La Cantera earned its ranking for "views that truly can't be beat, which is why we recommend booking a room with a balcony." The magazine also mentioned the resort's adults-only floor, luxe villas, exclusive spa treatments and "memorable: dining options. According to the editors, Signature is the resort's star — "a restaurant that is a feast for the senses, serving up seafood and wild game in an old-world setting."
In addition to the global list, La Cantera landed at No. 1 in the Texas and Southwest category. Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa came in at No. 4 in that category, following close behind Austin's Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa's No. 3 mention.
“We are honored to be recognized with such a significant award as Conde Nast Travelers’ Readers’ Choice Awards,” said Steven J. Smith, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, in a release. “Since the winners are determined based on the votes of actual travelers, this award is a demonstration of the incredible experience and unmatched service we provide at our beautiful Hill Country resort.”
Three Austin properties also made the list of best hotels, with one Houston entry:
- The Driskill (No. 3)
- JW Marriott Austin (No. 8)
- Four Seasons Hotel Houston (No. 19)
- Hotel Granduca Austin (No. 29)
