San Antonio pizza chain throws Hill Country anniversary party with celeb guest Chris Pérez
Forget the boring pizza parties of yesteryear — Pizza Patrón is taking it up a thousand notches, going all out to celebrate 20 years of business with a "PURO pizza party."
Although the pizza chain is headquartered in San Antonio, party on October 28 will take place at Pizza Patrón's Fredericksburg location (7959 Fredericksburg Rd. #103). From 10 am to 2 pm, guests will witness the grand unveiling of the 20th-anniversary pizza box design, which was submitted in a contest with a winner yet to be announced.
Joining the festivities will be a San Antonio celebrity guest: guitarist Chris Pérez.
The Grammy Award winner spoke to CultureMap to relay his excitement over participating in the PURO party: "San Antonio holds a special place in my heart."
"It's where I grew up, found my love for music, and it's a city that's been a big part of my journey," says Pérez.
Paying homage to the guest of honor's award-winning hot sauces — aptly named Pérez Pepper Sauce — Pizza Patrón will also reveal a new menu item at the party. The Pérez Pepperoni Pizza will be topped with a hearty helping of the hot sauce in the original flavor.
A mini classic car show will augment the party with automobiles that pay tribute to the city's rich culture. There will also be a churro cart, a craft station for kids, and complimentary candy bags (it will be nearly Halloween, after all). Finally there will also be giveaways; Whether or not that involves free pizza has yet to be seen.
"Partnering with Pizza Patrón for their 20th anniversary in San Antonio feels like the perfect way to give back to this amazing city that's given me so much. Plus, who can resist amazing pizza?" says Pérez.
Staying loyal to the love he has for his hometown, he added, "It's all about sharing the passion for music, food, and our vibrant cultura, making this city truly unique."
The pizza party is free and open to the public.
