A new San Antonio café is enthusiastically embracing the sweet concept that when life gives you crap, eat crepes!
New at The Rim shopping center is the perfectly named and adorably Instagrammable crepe and coffee shop Kaffeinated.
Located at 17619 La Cantera Pkwy., suite 209, around the corner from popular Bakudan Ramen, Kaffeinated will host its grand opening on Saturday, February 26.
The Kaffeinated menu is a treat to behold, featuring an embarrassment of riches in the form of sweet and savory crepes; loaded waffles; chocolate dips (fondue-style indulgences); a dizzying array of lattes, teas, coffees, and hot drinks (including a tempting concoction called Hot Nutella); over-the-top milkshakes; and, oh yeah, salads, for those who may be craving something a little less decadent.
Crepe highlights include the triple chocolate crepe with milk, dark, and white Belgian chocolate; the mixed fruit crepe, with all those chocolates, plus bananas, strawberries, and blueberries; the Kinder Bueno crepe, with milk and white Belgian chocolate and Kinder Bueno chocolate bars on top; and just about any other hedonistic or novelty combo you could think up, from dulce de leche crepes and s’mores crepes, to Reese’s spread crepes, cinnamon roll crepes, and an intriguing creation dubbed the sushi crepe, a banana rolled into a crepe and topped with powdered sugar and milk, dark, and white Belgian chocolate.
Other must-have specials include traditional Turkish coffee; caramel waffles and waffle sticks; extravagant milkshakes in flavors like Fruity Pebbles, Ferrero Rocher, Lotus (a German cookie butter), and Snickers, just to name a few.
While Kaffeinated’s sinfully alluring menu will certainly attract the best of sweet-toothed San Antonians, the coffee shop’s lavish décor is bound to enchant selfie snappers and design aficionados as well. The café is bathed in vivid purple and fuchsia hues and bedecked in a spectacular arrangement of floral vignettes, including a grand flower wall and a dramatic ceiling display festooned with suspended blossoms. Kaffeinated’s charm is undeniable, and makes for both a welcoming interlude from the real world and a glorious backdrop for photos. In fact, according to the coffee shop, the décor practically screams, “Let’s take a selfie!”
In celebration of its grand opening on Saturday, February 26, which runs 10 am-11 pm, Kaffeinated will treat the first 25 customers in line to a complimentary cold brew, hot coffee, or milkshake so they can get a jump on luxuriating in the shop’s delights and popping off those Instagram shots.
Following its grand opening celebration, Kaffeinated will be open Sunday through Thursday 10 am-10 pm and Friday and Saturday 10 am-11 pm. Online ordering is available for pickup and delivery via the Kaffeinated website.
