In the course of just 90 minutes the San Antonio Chamber Choir will explore Mozart's 35 short years of life. One will get a taste of the unfolding of this genius beginning with the first piece he learns at the piano before the age of five to his final beloved Lacrimosa from the Requiem. A makeshift rehearsal had Mozart himself singing the alto part just hours before his death with friends from the Freihaustheater. We will enjoy a bit from a cantata that he wrote at age 11, a string quartet from his teens, as well as some fabulous moments from his brilliant operas Idomeneo, Don Giovanni, Figaro and the Magic Flute. The beloved Laudate Dominum from the Vespers, as well as highlights from the Great Mass in C Minor will also be featured.
