A new lifestyle store has debuted in San Antonio's Olmos Park neighborhood. Feliz Market, owned by Ginger Diaz, is a modern, artistic space that houses a quirky mix of contemporary and vintage goods.
Channeling memories of her student days, Diaz uses her exceptional taste in interior décor to source beautiful designs for any budget. Whether shopping for an occasion card or Turkish rug, guests can browse a broad range of goods, including housewares, lifestyle, art, and party supplies.
The store’s tagline, “Art - Life - Fun,” summarizes the threefold vision Diaz has for the space. “Our store is centered around the areas we love in our own lives,” she says. “Art and connection with friends and family through entertaining, celebrating milestones with gifts and parties, spending time together, and more.”
A beautiful indoor and outdoor area doubles as an event space for private parties, while the store’s in-house gallery will provide an avenue for promoting the work of local artists. The launch featured new pieces from native San Antonio artist Kelly O’Connor in an exhibit called "Endless Summer."
“We are proud to have Kelly O’Connor as our inaugural local artist,” says Diaz. “Her work has long been a favorite of ours and she is making some really great pieces specifically for this show.”
A strong community vibe was a big priority for Diaz as she sought the perfect setting for the store. “We love Olmos Park’s central location and neighborhood feel. We like that it’s becoming more of a retail/artistic destination, and we’d love to see even more retail and art spaces pop up in the area.”
Feliz Modern officially opened Saturday, August 26. Its regular hours are 10 am to 6 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
