San Antonio restaurants debut egg-cellent menus for Easter
Spring has definitely sprung in Texas, so celebrate the nicer weather and longer days with an Easter feast, with options for both to-go and in-restaurant dining.
Here's a list of San Antonio specials available for the April 4 holiday. We'll continue to update as more are announced. Some deadlines come up fast, so don't delay ordering.
Boudro's Texas Bistro
Enjoy an April 4 Easter meal by the scenic River Walk from 11 am-11 pm, either by dining on the regular menu or choosing a three-course special meal just for the day. $35 per person gets you a prix fixe menu featuring little gem salad, piloncillo glazed ham, and sweet carrot cake. Ida Claire
Ida Claire fans can enjoy a special meal kit for Easter in the comfort of their own home. All meal kits feed four to six people and come with sides, including scalloped potatoes, maple-glazed carrots, green bean casserole, honey butter biscuits, and spring salad. Select either glazed ham ($80) or CAB prime rib ($110) for the entree. For dessert, add on your choice of pie for $20: coconut cream, strawberry lemonade, or bourbon pecan.
Whiskey Cake
The popular farm-to-fork kitchen is offering its "Hare Necessities" meal kit for Easter. Guests can choose from either Duroc ham ($85) or prime rib ($125) as an entree, with both kits featuring sage-spiced roasted potatoes, creamed Brussels sprouts with bacon, farm salad, and dinner rolls and honey for sides. For dessert, add on a half Whiskey Cake for $29 or a whole cake for $57. Guests can preorder now until supplies last, with pickup between April 1 and Easter Sunday.
Max's Wine Dive
Enjoy extended brunch hours on April 4 (11 am-4 pm) and two featured brunch entrees by executive chef Gabe Orozco, in addition to the regular brunch menu. The Easter hash ($15) is a blend of ham, cabbage, potato medley, root vegetables, feta cheese, poached egg, and salsa verde vinaigrette, while the asparagus and prosciutto omelette ($18) features house pesto, shaved parmesan, tomato, and red onion. Ruth's Chris
The famous steakhouse has a special at-home Easter celebration feast for four for $180. It features a choice of salad (Caesar or Steak House), roasted beef tenderloin, garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and cheesecake. Preorders are open throughout the month of March, with pickup on April 4. Guests dining in-restaurant can enjoy the regular menu and spring-featured items like a tomahawk for two.
JL Bar Ranch, Resort & Spa
If you're in the mood for a holiday day trip, from Friday, April 2-Sunday, April 4, JL Bar Ranch is offering a family-friendly feast daily with live music that includes a chicken and fish fry (Friday), a JL Bar Saturday BBQ ($32.95 for adults and $10.95 for children 12 and under), and Sunday Easter brunch from 10 am-2 pm ($39.95 for adults, $12.95 for children 12 and under).
Biga on the Banks
Four courses are waiting from 11 am-7 pm on April 4, plus a handful of Easter-inspired cocktails at this River Walk eatery. Entree choices include a seafood omelet, shepherd's pie, fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, griller hangar steak, Texas Gulf red snapper, and eggs Benedict with chicken fried oysters and a buttermilk biscuit, with vanilla cheesecake, chocolate cajeta mousse, and coconut pannacotta in a passionfruit soup available for dessert.
