Helping Mother Nature
New exhibition targets climate change and sustainability in San Antonio
Spring feels like the perfect time to open a new exhibition dedicated to climate and the environment, and beginning April 11 Culture Commons Gallery is doing just that.
Titled "Resilient and Responsive: Artists and the Environment,"the free exhibition explores our understanding of science, nature, and impact on the natural world.
Where facts and figures around climate change may miss the mark when connecting with San Antonio residents, insights from artists in our community help the issue of sustainability comes to life.
The City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture, in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability, is presenting "Resilient and Responsive" in the hopes of prompting conversations around our environment and provoking calls to action in support of San Antonio’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan.
The exhibition includes works from Margaret Craig, Manuel Davila, Celeste De Luna, Aminah Decé, Kwanzaa Edwards, Jose Esquivel, Audrya Flores, Jacob Garza, Lindsey Hurd, Marcos Medellin, Ashley Mireles, Linda Monsivais Hernandez, Doerte Weber, and Andrea Willems.
You're also invited to the opening reception on April 11 from 6-9 pm at Culture Commons Gallery, which is located at 115 Plaza de Armas.
The exhibition will be on display through January 17, 2025, and is free to visit and open to the public.
