Median home prices in the San Antonio metro area continued their climb in February, reaching a new peak.

A new report from the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR) shows the metro area’s median home price reached $314,000 in February, up 3 percent from the previous month ($304,700) and up 20 percent from the same month in 2021 ($262,400).

This also represents a new record for the median home price in the metro area, which previously set a new record of $311,000 in December 2021.

The higher median price reflects strong demand for homes.

“2022 is showing a steady pace as we enter the last month of the first quarter, with homes on the market for 38 days and 100 percent being sold for listing price,” Tracie Hasslocher, SABOR’s 2022 chairwoman, says in a news release.

In February, 2,681 homes were sold in the region, up 6.3 percent from the previous month (2,521) and up 9 percent from a year earlier (2,413), SABOR says. Meanwhile, the typical home stayed on the market for 38 days, down from 32 days in January and 14 days a year earlier, according to the SABOR report.
