Seven Lone Star spots rank among the top 30 on WalletHub's list of the best cities to start a business. The financial website analyzed the 150 most populous U.S. cities using metrics in three main categories: business environment, access to resources, and cost.
Amarillo and Lubbock lead the way at Nos. 10 and 15. Here, business owners are granted the most accessible financing in the nation. Austin is next, at No. 20, followed by Houston (No. 21), Corpus Christi (No. 23), San Antonio (No. 29), and Dallas (No. 30).
San Antonio boasts the third best business environment in America, notes WalletHub, but resources are slim and starting a business can be costly. Alamo City ranks a dismal No. 142 in the former category and No. 90 in the latter.
The best city for budding entrepreneurs is Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
