The Briscoe Western Art Museum invites San Antonio to celebrate its fourth birthday with a city-wide Briscoe Birthday Bash. In honor of its anniversary, the Briscoe will offer all day, free admission to museum visitors as well as complimentary birthday cupcakes in the Briscoe Museum lobby at noon.
The Briscoe Museum offers a permanent collection of Western art and artifacts as well as special exhibitions that showcase the stories of the American Indian, vaquero, American cowboy, pioneering women, and others that define the American West. Highlights of nine galleries include Santa Anna’s sword, works by Frederic Remington, Pancho Villa’s last known saddle, contemporary and historic paintings, sculptures, an impressive spur collection, and other cowboy and Native American relics, weapons, and photography.
