Street2Feet is a wellness program whose mission is to promote health in spirit, body, and soul with individuals experiencing homelessness in San Antonio. They use a walking and running 5K training model to introduce exercise as medicine and self-care. The program builds community, goal setting, perseverance, confidence, and holistic health through the joy of an active life style.
Training groups meet Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 7:30 am at Garcia Park. Volunteers are always needed to help with weekly training sessions, including mentors, administrative help, donations, grant writing, and event planning. These volunteer opportunities are available once a week, once a month, or anytime you can offer. For more information, head here or contact Lana Hernandez at street2feetsa@gmail.com.
Street2Feet is pleased to announce that its 10th annual Street2Feet 5K run walk will take place on February 16, 2019. The tradition continues of featuring a beautiful downtown course and celebration of health and community. This year, the course will highlight San Antonio's newest landmark, the beautiful Frost Bank Tower. Runners and walkers will enjoy signature cheer groups along the course to encourage and support racers, as well as a mariachi serenade. The post-race celebration fair will include a pop-up farmers market, healthy food vendors, and interactive family activities.
