San Antonio Realtor reveals 4 downright awesome downtown listings
For over 40 years, Debra Maltz been working in and focusing her business life around downtown San Antonio. The Kuper Sotheby's International Realty agent has devoted her career to sharing the city's charms with others.
"Being only one block from the San Antonio River, a short walk to the Central Business District, Houston Street restaurants, theaters, and an easy walk to the Pearl make this a fantastic location," she says.
Though she doesn't personally live there — "I wish!"" — Maltz does currently have the rare opportunity to help sell four gorgeous townhomes in the downtown area. The fifth townhome, the largest, has already sold.
Below are a few of Maltz's picks for the best spots in this hip area, as well as a hot listing that could turn you into a 78205 resident.
Eating and drinking
There's no shortage of delicious restaurants and trendy bars downtown: Pharm Table, Havana Bar, Kimura, Gwendolyn, and Paramour are just a few.
Arts and culture
It's so easy to go to the Tobin Center and listen to a symphony, watch a ballet, you name it! The Briscoe Western Art Museum is full of fascinating exhibits, and the Central Library is a great resource. Of course, there's The Alamo and Main Plaza in the heart of the city as well.
Outdoors and recreation
Alamo City's most famous natural landmark, the San Antonio River, is of course right downtown. There are plenty of hike and bike trails, but just strolling around and people-watching in Hemisfair Park and Travis Park is always entertaining.
Homes for sale
The four townhomes currently available at The Richmond are not typical of the neighborhood, which is what makes them so special. With three levels, three bedrooms, and three-and-a-half baths, the energy efficient homes sport beautiful finishes and lots of storage. The opportunity to live in a boutique project in the middle of downtown's Arts District is pretty special to begin with, but throw in a two-car garage? Unheard of.
