If you have big New Year's Eve plans, you'll need some recovery plans for New Year's Day — and that should definitely include a tasty breakfast or brunch. Even if you don't, you should still indulge in something more than a bowl of cereal on your day off. Leave your suit and tie at home, and venture out to one of these five San Antonio restaurants open for brunch on New Year's Day. 

Boiler House
Aside from the Bloody Marys and mimosas, Boiler House has a brunch to sate all foodie cravings. Menu options include blueberry cannoli creme brulee French toast, green-chili pork, poached eggs and popcorn grits, smoked salmon quiche, and more. 

Magnolia Pancake Haus
There's not much better than a stack of buttermilk pancakes for a New Year's Day treat. Magnolia Pancake Haus is one of our go-to spots for all things breakfast. There are no reservations accepted here, but we promise your meal will be worth the wait. 

Max's Wine Dive 
Tasty and always reliable, Max's offers one of the best brunches in town — think Frito pie omelet, chicken-fried steak and eggs, French toast with creme brulee custard, and probably the much-needed Hangover Hash. And if you can handle any more libations, opt for a Wine Dive mimosa. 

Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery 
​One of Pearl Brewery's favorite eateries offers a decadent brunch. For breakfast lovers, opt for the German pancake or the country ham Benedict with jalapeño cornbread. For something sweet, opt for the vanilla bean sour milk beignets or the house-made granola. 

Supper
There's no brunch at Hotel Emma's restaurant Supper, but there's breakfast and lunch. Assuming you're up between 7 and 10 am, start with a house-made juice. To eat, take the sunny side up egg with jalapeño cream cheese, bacon, and caramel onions on a bagel; the waffle with duck confit, cranberry, orange, and goat cheese mousse; or any one of Supper's decadent pastries.
