Now that the Thanksgiving food coma has passed, it’s time to feast again. This week keeps the holiday spirit alive with food events sure to sleigh. Sample seasonal brews, slurp fideo at a unique Christmas market, or hang out with a celebrity chef. Either way, you’re guaranteed to have a holly, jolly time.

The Green Plate: Vegan and Vegetarian Culinary Series at San Antonio Botanical Garden
Whether you have committed to plant-based lifestyle or just want to add more veggies to your life, this popular cooking series will help you kill it in the kitchen. This week, chef Joshua Schewnke and nutrition educator Taylor Phelps lead guests through a vibrant tour of Thailand, focusing on local sourcing and seasonality. Tickets are $25, and the event begins at 6:30 pm.

Winter is Coming Craft Beer Tasting at Stout House

Join reality stars and entrepreneurs Buddy & Lisa Valastro as they dish on family and tradition at this intimate dinner. Feast on an three-course Italian menu with wine pairings from Republic, while the couple share holiday tips from the Valastro home. Tickets are $50, and a portion of the diner’s proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.  

Fourth Annual Chili Cook-off at The Lost Bar & Grill
San Antonio’s best home chefs are battling for bragging rights and cash in this spicy annual competition starting at 4 pm. Bring a $10 fee, a six-ounce sample for the judges, and a slow cooker for the crowd to enter the battle and let your creativity shine. Use any kind of meat, beans or no beans, or dress the bowl up with toppings. Rules are made to be broken.
