We all love a good happy hour, but the truth is they are sometimes more trouble than they are worth. Leaving the office to make the cut-off time is a struggle and sometimes traffic just doesn’t cooperate. But thanks to these five hot spots, there is another way. Go ahead, take a pit stop to walk the dog and catch up on today’s viral videos. These five San Antonio haunts offer deals long after dark.

Bar Louie
Known for martinis — both the kind enjoyed by the Rat Pack and the cast of Sex and the City — this La Cantera watering hole is also one of the few places in the neighborhood to go for late night-drink deals. From 9-11 pm Sunday-Thursday, the signature cocktails are only $5.50, draft beers are $3.50, and wines are $4.50. A curated selection of appetizers and flatbreads are also half-off should you need a little sustenance before calling a Lyft.

The Hoppy Monk
With a name like the Hoppy Monk, it’s a no-brainer that this gastropub would offer a great selection of beers — many from Texas faves like Real Ale, Community, HighWheel, and Live Oak. The real surprise is the cocktails, which are far from being an afterthought. During the reverse happy hour (or hoppy hour, if you prefer) starting at 10:30 pm Sunday-Thursday, solid versions of classic like Paper Planes and Old Fashioneds are between $5-$6. We’ll definitely toast to that!

Kona Grill
Arrive right at 9 pm Monday-Saturday to secure a spot at this sushi eatery’s reverse happy hour, available in the bar, patio, and lounge areas only. Once settled, fill up on discounted rolls and apps like potstickers, shrimp tempura, and chicken satay. The drinks are an even better deal. For $6.50, get a boozy Mai Tai (add a dark rum float for an extra buck) or for $7.50, choose a mule made with a choice of Bourbon, vodka, or gin.

Tribeca 212
Forget about Sunday Funday — Mondays are the time to party at this Olmos Park staple. From 3-10 pm, enjoy a killer lineup of discounted drinks ranging from refreshing blueberry mojitos to original creations like Ragin’ Ranger Kombucha with Dripping Springs gin. Feeling peckish? Order the fried calamari or tangy chicken wings glazed in sweet chili sauce and served with plenty of charred scallion ranch for you to dip them in.

Yard House
There’s a world of flavors to choose from during this River Walk hangout's late night happy hour, including Wisconsin cheese curds, pork egg rolls, jerk wings, fried calamari, and pork lumpia. All are half-price starting at 9:30 pm Sunday-Wednesday. Arrive before 11 pm and enjoy $2 off wine, beer, and cocktails like the fruity Paradise Found or the heady Old 43.
