How hot is the Texas housing market? Real estate website PropertyShark combed through active listings to find the 10 most expensive homes for sale in Texas right now.

The priciest is an Austin-area estate, on the market for $68.3 million. The Lago Vista compound, listed by Jack Carter of BHGRE Bradfield Properties, includes more than 2,000 acres of prime Hill Country space with waterfront access to Lake Travis. Bonus: Pace Bend Park and Balcones Canyonlands Wildlife Refuge are located right across from the sprawling property. The 5,056-square-foot house features six bedrooms and six bathrooms. Outside, a pristine pool and hot tub overlook rolling green hills.

Coming in at No. 2 is the $48.9 million dollar Crespi Estate, at 10000 Hollow Way Rd. in Dallas. Listed by Allie Beth Allman of Allie Beth Allman & Associates, the 25-acre estate, which dates back to 1938, boasts a main estate house, business guest house, and original family house and apartment. The property underwent a comprehensive renovation under architect Peter Marino in the early '00s and now features a smart home system, heated pool, greenhouse, tennis court, rec room, multiple garages, marble floors, and outdoor fireplace, among other luxury details.

The top 10 includes five other Dallas-area abodes, two luxurious Houston homes, and one more Austin mansion. There are no San Antonio-area properties on the list. The least expensive? An $18 million retreat in the middle of bustling Dallas.
