Lucky movie-goers to the Mission Marquee Outdoor Movie Series got an unexpected treat during a recent sundown screening of A League of Their Own. On August 16, as families walked into Mission Plaza to find seats in front of the iconic teal movie screen, lucky guests were surprise as part of CultureMap and Frost Bank's #frostitforward campaign.

In honor of the baseball classic, CultureMap and Frost handed out Cracker Jacks — and a little something extra. Along with the festive ballpark fare, attendees also received trendy ball caps, stickers, phone wallets, and, of course, a very special Frost cash card. As part of its new Opt for Optimism campaign, Frost provided $10 cash cards with one caveat — use the money to surprise someone else.

More than 50 San Antonians were asked to use the cash to help a loved one or stranger. One local Girl Scout troop even made plans to figure out how to #frostitforward together as a team. With Cracker Jacks and cash cards in-hand, attendees then moseyed over to the festive MBP Photobooth to snap pictures and spread the word.

The pop-up in Mission Plaza is just the latest in Frost's year-long campaign to surprise and delight its hometown of San Antonio, as well as the rest of Texas. In June, CultureMap and Frost joined diners at Bakery Lorraine for a lunchtime surprise. The next month, the lucky athletes of Lucky X Fitness were treated to more than just a free class during July's special event.

And we're not done. CultureMap and Frost will continue to surprise San Antonio throughout 2018. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter to find out where we're heading next. Looking to get involved?
