ASTROBLACK (Urban Dictionary meaning: 1. extremely blunted, either to the point of blacking out, or reaching a higher state of mind then ever before 2. an enlightened black man) is the artist Xavier Gilmore’s own search into the continuous transformation, transfer, and refinement of ideas and movements in our culture. Gilmore explores these ideas through sound, image and video manipulation, and text.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through August 19.
