The San Antonio Fashion Awards is a city-backed event that is meant to serve the local fashion community and the city of San Antonio. Much like the Oscars, the San Antonio Fashion Awards is a formal affair, beginning with a red carpet exhibition, opening statements by councilman Roberto Trevino, and ending with the award ceremony in which the winners will receive the Diamond Award of Excellence.

The public, the San Antonio Fashion Awards nominees, and their distinguished guests will all gather for an evening of high fashion, camaraderie, celebration and community. The categories recognized this year will be: Womenswear Designer of the Year, Menswear Designer of the Year, Model of the Year, Stylist of the Year, Fashion Artist of the Year, Local Retailer of the Year, Fashion Event of the Year, Hair Innovator of the Year, Makeup Innovator of the Year, Magazine of the Year and Fashion Blogger of the Year.
