Krause's Café & Biergarten will present the return of its official Masskrugstemmen competition, a Bavarian stein-holding competition, and German sport. The event series Masskrugstemmen is a traditional beer stein-holding competition that has its roots in Germany. The competition is a Bavarian strongman and strongwoman test where participants hold a liter of German beer, by the handle, with their arm extended straight in front of them for as long as they can.

There will be rounds for both men and women. Guests can enter the competition to receive their choice of Hofbräu beer and their included stein to go with it. As the competition endures, the last person remaining - and correctly holding his or her liter of beer - wins. The gal and guy winners will move on to the Krause’s Finals for one final battle royale to compete for a chance to participate in the Masskrugstemmen at the Hofbrauhaus in New York City. The stein master named as national champion in New York will win a trip to Germany.
