The Cherrity Bar, in partnership with San Antonio Meals on Wheels, is hosting a Chopped-style challenge between three of the city’s best chefs. Meals on Wheels, a selected charity for the month of June, has brought to life San Antonio’s own celebrity cook-off. This three-way duel will be between chefs Michael Sohocki, owner of Gwendolyn, Kimura and Il Forno; James Canter, owner of Guerrilla Gourmet; and Chris Carlson, Executive Chef of Maverick - Texas Brasserie. The Make Our Menu Challenge will feature a “picnic basket” of items for the chefs to spin up their best paella.

Judging will be performed by a Meals on Wheels executive, a SA2020 representative and David Malley, co-owner of The Cherrity Bar. There will be live music from the Meals on Wheels Director Jim Snyder will be rocking the mic and Guerrilla Gourmet will be serving food for purchase, remember for every $10 in food and drink purchase made, patrons receive tokens to cast their votes for one of three featured nonprofits for the month. At the end of every month, 10 percent of profits are donated to the Tourette Association of America and the remaining profits from the bar are allocated to the charities based on patron voting.
