The AtticRep International Fest of Theatre will feature three separate shows over two weekends:

  • Snapshots of a Fervid Sunrise (June 8-9) - Mahesh Dattani's play is a story of two teenagers in love, but not the kind of love we associate with teenagers. Khudiram Bose and Thillayaadi Velliamai never met, but they were both connected by a common passion – a love for their motherland. The play explores through these two forgotten characters the way we have come to honor our fallen heroes and how the present & future will create & celebrate heroes as well.
  • On the Porch with The Lavens: How Music Shaped a Family (June 10-11) - A new original and devised work by AtticRep in collaboration with Tuppence Entertainment, featuring San Antonio’s own Laven Family.  The production tells the story of The Lavens, from the generation of Lavens that immigrated from Holland to their present day Laven family band. Learn how music shaped the Lavens as a family and as one of San Antonio’s most loved bands.  The show will feature live performances of songs by Rachel, Niko, and Andreas Laven, and the Lavens will tell their stories up close and personal on their widely known “porch.”
  • Through the Wall (A Traves del Muro)(June 16-18) Through the Wall is created from testimonies of Mexican migrants that have illegally crossed the border between Mexico and United States. It considers texts generated from interviews and stories of children, women, men, families and all those people who alone or accompanied embarked on the adventure to cross the border and achieve the American dream.
